(5권 3호) 태권도철학을 철학함_이학준

이 글의 목적은 태권도의 정체성 담론의 비판적 성찰을 통하여 태권도란 무엇인가를 알아보는 것과 기존의 연구된 태권도철학을 철학함을 통해서 태권도철학이 무엇인가를 탐구하는데 있다. 그 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째 태권도란 무엇인가? 태권도를 정의하는 데 중요한 것은 열린 개념으로서의 태권도이다. 태권도는 내포와 외연, 하는 목적과 맥락(context)에 따라서 다양하게 정의되어야 한다. 연구자는 송형석의 태권도정의를 부분적 수정을 해서 다음과 같이 재 개념화 하였다. 태권도는 한국에서 시작된 손과 발기술 위주의 독특한 운동형식을 갖고 있으며 떨어져서 신체적 탁월성을 겨루는 기예이다. 이러한 수정된 개념은 스포츠, 체육, 운동, 태권무, 태권체조, 태권에어로빅 등 다양한 태권도의 외연을 포함할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 둘째, 태권도철학이란 무엇인가? 지금까지 연구된 태권도철학은 허실론, 삼재강유론, 강유론 등이 있다. 이러한 이론들은 태권도철학의 구성 원리를 찾는 연구들로서 태권도를 싸움기술, 전형적인 무도라는 인식에서 벗어나지 못하는 문제가 있다. 그러므로 태권도의 외연을 확장하는데 한계를 가질 수밖에 없을 뿐만 아니라 태권도철학을 발전하지 못하게 할 수 있다. 따라서 연구자는 태권도철학의 진전된 논의를 유도하기 위하여 다음과 같이 정리하였다. 태권도철학은 태권도(연구대상)를 철학하는(연구방법) 것으로 태권도의 존재, 인식, 가치의 문제를 연구하고, 교육하는 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to inquiry what is Taekwondo through critical reflection on identity discourse of Taekwondo. and explore what is Taekwondo philosophy through philosophical review the previous studies of Taekwondo philosophy. The results of the study are following as. First, what is Taekwondo? Taekwondo should be defined in various ways according to the purpose and context, and connotation and extension of Taekwondo. The limit of Taekwondo definition in present does not extend to the outer edge of Taekwondo because Taekwondo are limited as martial arts. The researcher are reconceptualized Taekwondo. In Korea, Taekwondo began with unique movement form as contest of physical excellence. These concepts are modified with extension of Taekwondo as sports, physical education, exercise, taegwonmu, Taekwon gymnastics, Taekwondo aerobics and so on. Second, what is Taekwon do Philosophy? The philosophy of Taekwondo have the problem overcoming the limitation of Martial arts. The previous Taekwondo philosophy are organized principle of taekwondo philosophy. This limitation was to prevent the development of taekwondo philosophy. Therefore, I defined that Taekwondo philosophy are studied the problem of ontology, epistemology, value of Taekwondo.
