Taekwondo Research Institute of Kukkiwon has been established to carry
out research on the theories of the Taekwondo spirit and techniques.

Our institute is dedicated to establishing the value and identity of
Taekwondo through humanities research such as the history and philosophy
of Taekwondo. Physiological and kinetic studies focus on scientifically
investigating the principles underlying the techniques and the benefits of
Taekwondo training.

We also study the social value of Taekwondo. Our works are not only to
enhance the academic value of Taekwondo, but also to ensure practical
applications of the research outcomes for education in the frontline classes.

For this purpose, the institute's major operating policy includes publishing
academic journals in close collaboration with researchers who study
Taekwondo and discovering emerging and outstanding researchers.

Finally, by establishing policy agendas, Taekwondo Research Institute of
Kukkiwon will do its best to offer realistic solutions in the field of Taekwondo.
