1. The Editorial Committee shall determine whether to publish a submitted article based on review results of the reviewers.

2. Appointment of Reviewers 1) The Editorial Committee shall appoint 2 joint reviewers for each topic, and both shall conduct reviews through consensus. 2) The Editorial Committee shall determine whether to publish articles that have been re-reviewed after revision based on the re-review results of the article reviewers according to 「5-1」. 3) The Editorial Committee may appoint a few peer reviewers from outside of the Editorial Committee if deemed necessary for determining whether to publish an article.

3. Guidelines 1) The reviewers appointed by the Editorial Committee shall review the articles fairly, and without criticisms or biases. 2) The reviewers appointed by the Editorial Committee must complete their reviews within the given period, and the Editorial Committee must notify the reviewers of the period when appointing them. 3) The reviewers shall not arbitrarily use the submitted articles that have not been published. 4) The reviewers shall confirm whether the articles are duplicate publications or have been plagiarized before conducting their reviews. 5) The reviewers shall use the proper style (expressions) in their review reports, and shall take caution to ensure that no misunderstandings arise to the authors about the results of the reviews. 6) Reviewers shall refrain from making ambiguous statements and expressions in their review reports and clearly convey their opinions. When making the judgement of “Not Accepted”, reviewers shall present sufficient reasons for doing so in detail. 7) Article reviews shall be conducted under the principle of nondisclosure, barring special circumstances.

4. Review Procedure 1) Articles shall be submitted through the Online Article Submission (http://research.kukkiwon.or.kr/journal/online_paper/main.php) in the Taekwondo Research Institute of Kukkiwon homepage (http://research.kukkiwon.or.kr) as a rule, and the registration date shall be the date of reception. At this time, the article may be revised until the deadline date (time) for submission. 2) The Editorial Committee and reviewers appointed by the Editorial Committee shall conduct reviews through the ‘Online Article Review’ in the ‘Taekwondo Research Institute of Kukkiwon homepage’ as a rule, barring special circumstances. However, if it is impossible to conduct reviews online, reviews may be conducted offline. 3) If a submitted article does not abide by the Guidelines for Article Submission, the author may be asked to make revisions, and failure to respond to these requests will result in the submission not being accepted. 4) If the Editorial Committee finds a submitted article unsuitable for publication, the Editorial Committee may request the author to supplement or revise the article, or revise and make additions or omissions to the article in accordance with the Guidelines for Article Submission. 5) If the author does not respond within 2 weeks after the Editorial Committee requested revision or supplementation of the manuscript, publication of the relevant manuscript shall be deterred until the requested revision or supplementation is completed. 6) Results of reviews shall be provided in the 4 categories as follows: Accepted, Accepted After Revision, Re-review After Revision, and Not Accepted. 7) The format for the Revision Table for the results of the review shall be downloaded from the Online Article Submission in the Taekwondo Research Institute of Kukkiwon website, filled out, and attached alongside the revised article to the Online Article Submission System. For objections to the results of a review, fill out the Application Form for Objection, and submit to the Taekwondo Research Institute of Kukkiwon via E-mail (research@kukkiwon.or.kr). 8) Reviews on articles shall be carried out in the order that the articles were received, and the results shall be notified after approval from the Editorial Commissioner and the Editorial Committee. However, in cases where deliberation is required among members of the Editorial Committee, the notification of the results will be deterred until the meeting of the Editorial Committee. 9) The Editorial Committee may make additional request for evaluation to a third reviewer, and the final deliberation for the overall judgement shall be made at the meeting of Editorial Committee. 10) Objections to the results of a review may be raised only once, and the Editorial Committee shall deliberate on whether to sustain or overrule the objection.
