이 연구는 유소년 태권도경기 유망주의 발굴과 지도방법에 대한 결과를 도출하여 대한민국 태권도경기의 국제적 경쟁력 확보를 위한 기초자료를 제공함에 목적이 있다. 이 같은 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 연구 참여자의 경험을 중심으로 사례분석을 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 태권도전문지도자들은 선수선발과 발굴의 조건으로 태권도 기술을 습득하고 발휘함에 유리한 체격조건이 있으며, 기술의 활용능력과 적용능력을 갖춘 선수로서 투지와 근성, 도전적 태도 등과 같은 정의적 측면, 그리고 보호자의 적극적 지원 등의 요소를 중요한 요인으로 판단하고 있다. 둘째, 선수 지도방법으로는 맞춤형지도, 연계지도, 지도의 분업과 협업 등을 제시하고 있으며, 맞춤형지도에 있어서는 선수 각 개인의 특별한 재능을 확장시키거나 미진한 부분을 보완할 수 있는 체력, 기술, 심리 등에 대한 맞춤형 프로그램의 구성과 실시를 강조하고 있다. 아울러 본인과 코칭방법, 코칭철학 등이 유사한 친분관계에 있는 지도자와 연계하여 지도를 받게 하고 또한 코칭을 비롯한 선수지도 전반에서 돌출되는 본인 역량 밖의 문제에 대하여 역할의 분담과 분업을 통한 협업의 형태로 지도의 효율성을 도모하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to provide the baseline data for securing international competitiveness of Taekwondo athletes in South Korea by deriving the results of the excavation and coaching method of prospective youth Taekwondo athletes. Through an ethnography case analysis which analyzes mainly the experiences of research participants. The following conclusions were derived. First, professional Taekwondo instructors considered important factors to select athletes are advantageous physique conditions to master and demonstrate Taekwondo skills, abilities to use the skills and its applicate, rightfulness including fighting spirit, tenacity, defiant attitude, and parental support etc. Second, professional Taekwondo instructors suggested customized instruction, conjunct instruction, and division of instruction by the types of instruction. In detail, the customized instruction highlights the composition

and implementation of programs customized to physical strength, skills, and psychological training for extending the special talents or complementing the insufficient parts for individual athletes. In addition, it was found that the instructors are promoting coaching efficiency by cooperating with an instructor who has similar coaching method and philosophy and by dividing their roles out of capacity.
