(4권 2호) 태권도 표준교육과정의 개발과 과제_손천택

태권도 교육이 지향하는 인간상, 태권도 교육의 목표, 태권도 교육의 내용, 태권도 교육의 평가 등에 대한 합의가 이루어지 않은 가운데 각 사범들이 서로 다른 주장들을 하고 있다. 따라서 이 연구는 왜 합의된 태권도 표준교육과정이 개발되어야 하는지 그 당위성을 교육과정 개발절차에 따라 분석, 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이 연구는 세단계로 진행하였다. 우선, 체육교육과정 개발 이론과 절차를 분석하여 태권도 표준교육과정 개발 가능성을 타진하고, 현장의 태권도 지도자와의 면담을 통해 태권도 교육과정이 개발되지 않고 있는 이유를 찾아낸 다음, 마지막으로 태권도 교육과정 개발 방향을 제시하였다. 연구결과, 태권도 교육에 대한 사회적 기대를 수용하고 변화하는 수련생들의 특성을 고려하는 동시에 축적된 태권도 내용지식을 충실히 반영하는 교육과정을 정기적으로 개정하고 그에 따른 교재를 개발하면 태권도 교육이 더 큰 실효를 거둘 수 있을 것이라는 결론에 도달하였다. 구체적으로, ‘현대적 선비’가 되기 위한 목표를 명확히 설정하고, 교육내용을 신중하게 결정하여, 교육과정 구성 원리를 좇아, 태권도 교육과정을 조직한 다음, 수련생들에게 효율적으로 가르치고, 태권도의 세 가지 목표를 통합적으로 평가함으로써 태권도의 사회 교육적 기능을 더욱 발전시켜 나가야 한다는 결론을 얻었다.

A desirable human character to be oriented, objectives to be achieved, contents to be covered, and evaluation to be estimated have not been agreed among Taekwondo instructors. This means that each Taekwondo instructor holds different opinion concerning what to teach. Thus, the purpose of this study was to analyze and suggest why a standard Taekwondo curriculum should be developed with the help of theoretical process of curriculum development. This study has been done in three stages. First of all, the possibilities of developing standard Taekwondo curriculum were examined by analyzing the theories and processes of developing physical education curriculum. Second, the reason why standard should be periodically reformed faithfully reflecting social expectation toward the Taekwondo education, characteristics of Taekwondo practitioners and accumulated Taekwondo content knowledges. To produce actual results of Taekwondo curriculum reform, textbooks to be used in the field of Taekwondo gymnasium should be developed. More specifically, the objective of becoming desirable human character of modern ‘Sunbee (classical scholar of Korea)’ should be definitely established, and on the basis of it Taekwondo curriculum should be decided. Taekwondo curriculum ought to be organized following constructing principles of curriculum. Most importantly, Taekwondo instructors are supposed to teach Taekwondo effectively and evaluate three objectives of Taekwondo with integrated approaches. should be periodically reformed faithfully reflecting social expectation toward the Taekwondo education, characteristics of Taekwondo practitioners and accumulated Taekwondo content knowledges.
